Important message from the Transportation Department: One of our route buses was delayed this afternoon due to a belt breaking. We promptly had another bus dispatched and delivered all students home safely. That bus is still on the side of the road, but please know that everyone who was on the bus is safe at home. Instead of paying a tow truck, we have opted to replace the belt onsite, and that will be done tomorrow. Thank you for your patience this afternoon.

Volleyball Send-Off
Thursday, 11/16 at 7:30 AM | Meet at the front of the high school to cheer on the team as they head off to the STATE SEMI-FINALS!

Tiger Family,
It's always important to stay informed of what is happening in our state with regards to education. This week, the Texas House will consider House Bill 1 which includes a voucher system with universal eligibility for students. According to the Legislative Budget Board, the voucher program will cost $2 billion in the second year of the program and grow each year. This creates a significant new financial commitment for the state while public schools remain underfunded by more than $14 billion.

GMS has set up an Angel Tree in the foyer, and YOU are encouraged to come by and choose an angel! Angel selection will be available during school hours. Please come choose one off the tree and help make a child's Christmas so much brighter!
When you come to pick up an Angel ornament, please sign the log next to the tree with your name, number, and the number on the ornament. All gifts should be wrapped and have the Angel number on it. All gifts will need to be turned in to Gunter Middle School by December 11th.
Thank you in advance for helping to make this a successful project for Gunter Middle School.

This week in Tiger Sports. Don't forget to check the Event Calendar, Athletics page, and our social media for ticket links and important notices regarding the playoff games.

We think you should be kind every day! But, if you've never performed an anonymous "Act of Kindness," today is a great day to do that! Do something nice for someone and don't tell a soul. Your well-being will be blessed a thousand times over!

Good afternoon Tiger Nation,
Our Lady Tiger volleyball team has just earned their 4th consecutive trip to the State Volleyball Tournament!
Our semi-final game will be on Thursday, November 16th at either 11:00 or 1:00. In order to give our entire community a chance to show up and show out in support of our Lady Tigers, we will not have school Thursday, November 16th.
It’s a great day to be a Tiger. See you in Garland!
Scott Martindale, Superintendent

Join us as we send our Volleyball team off to the REGIONAL TOURNAMENT!
Friday, 11/10 - Front of Gunter High School. After the drive-through, they will travel to the elementary school for their "Walk of Fame" and then head off to the tournament.

The GMS Leadership classes need your help. The classes are making fleece
blankets for the residents of Tribute Senior Living in Prosper. We will be making
80 blankets and delivering them to the residents in December.
We need donations of the fleece material to make the blankets. Each
blanket requires 3 yards of fleece, cut into 2 pieces measuring 1 ½ yards each.
All donations need to be dropped off at the GMS office by Monday,
November 27th. Thank you for helping us serve others this holiday season.

Thank you for your patience with us today as we dealt with the water outage. The water break has been repaired and Gunter ISD will be back in session at regular time tomorrow. Buses will run on their normal schedule as well.
See you tomorrow!

in case you forgot to sign up for transportation notices and have a bus rider, see image for important message.

Important Message from GISD Transportation (11/8): Bus routes will run the same as they do each day, except earlier due to the city wide water outage. Parents unable to get home at the time your children are to be let out, call the transportation office at 903-696-1500.

Important Notice (November 8th): Due to the city-wide water outage, Gunter ISD will be releasing our students early. High School/Middle School students will be released at 12:30 PM and Elementary students will be released at 1:00 PM. All dismissal procedures will be the same; just earlier.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate these unforeseen circumstances.
