Gunter ISD is proud to celebrate an incredible achievement by our Tigers!

In their fourth consecutive appearance at the UIL State Tournament, the Gunter Tigers Boys Golf team captured the 3A State Championship, bringing home the gold

Leading the way was Austin Anderson, who delivered an outstanding performance to earn the individual state title

The team’s success was guided by Coach Joe Bullard, whose leadership and dedication helped carry the Tigers to this victory.

This victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our student-athletes and coaches. We couldn’t be more proud of the way they represented Gunter on the state’s biggest stage.

Update regarding Winter Storm Days & Make-up Schedule

Gunter ISD Family,

Because we missed four days of school due to the winter storm, we needed a plan to make up that time.
The good news is that we only need to make up one day. Our School Board has submitted a waiver to the state for the other days, and we are waiting on approval.

Monday, March 23 will now be a regular school day for all students.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of Gunter ISD.

Sincerely,
Dr. Enos

We are pleased to announce the members of our School Board who will begin serving in the 2026–2027 school year.

After 21 years of selfless and dedicated service, Gary Harris will be stepping down from the Board. We are deeply grateful for his commitment, leadership, and the many contributions he has made to our district over the years. Please join us in thanking him for his extraordinary service.

The following candidates were unopposed and will begin serving our district in the upcoming school year:

Place 5: Robert Hough
Place 6: Kristie Nelson
Place 7: Jim Scano

Because these candidates were unopposed, there will not be a school board election this year.

We look forward to the continued leadership and service of our incoming board members as they support the success of our students, staff, and community.

An amazing showing for Gunter FFA at the San Angelo Ag Mechanics show!

Three projects, three blue ribbons and two projects placed!
There were a total of 880 entries in this competition!
Braden Hilton received a blue ribbon to advance in the competition with a Fireproof Welding Bottle Storage Cabinet.
Brody Bracewell and Stone Rummage came away with a blue ribbon to advance and placed third in their class with their Spray Rig and won some additional prizes.
Maci Verden and Ava McComb also grabbed a blue ribbon to advance and won first in their class with a 16 Foot Bumper Pull Trailer and some additional prizes as well.
The students “show the project” from 8am - 5pm, talking to people all day as they come by to view their work. Additionally a set of 3-5 judges come through and grill them on their project. Asking questions such as, “Why did you do it this way?”, “What metal is used?”, “Who is this project for?”, etc. Questions are both broad and down to the very technical things. The students have to know their project inside and out.
These projects are not only designed and fabricated from scratch, they are also designed in a CAD software program from scratch. The amount of learning and real world lessons being taught in our Ag Shop would amaze anyone. None of this would have been possible without our ag teacher Dylan Ashlock. These students put in many hours up at the shop getting these projects ready and Mr. Ashlock has been right there every time impacting the kids and this program. We couldn’t be more thankful for the hard work the students and teachers put in to make this happen.

Our regional qualifiers traveled to Dallas this past weekend to compete for a spot at the State Tournament — and seniors Karlee Beavers and Jackson Hayworth were tough competitors as they represented Gunter.

Karlee finished Top 8 in the region—wrestling 4 Top 20 wrestlers in Class 5A in one day! She also medaled in every tournament she wrestled this year. Congratulations on a fantastic 4 year wrestling career as a Gunter Tiger Karlee!

Jackson is not down for the count! He wrestled his way into the #1 spot on the podium and will be moving on to STATE and competing on February 13th and 14th in Cypress! Not only did he punch his ticket to State, but he also made history by becoming our program’s first-ever Regional Champion! We couldn’t be more proud of his hard work and determination.
