The road conditions have diminished faster than we predicted, and for the safety of our students and faculty, we have decided to send our students back to the safety of their own homes at this time. Our original thoughts from monitoring the weather forecast was to release early this afternoon to be ahead of the weather that was supposed to come in later today, but “Old Man Weather” sped up the process. The roads have already begun to ice, so please be extra cautious if you are on the roads.
- The Gunter ISD Transportation Department is working diligently to safely deliver the bus riders to their homes. The bus process will begin at 8:45 AM. Please be ready for your child to get off the bus.
- Students who have driven themselves to school have already been sent home.
- If you are coming to pick up your child, please follow the same procedures as an early release; allow the bus to depart, and then the car line will begin.
Basketball games that were moved to tonight have been canceled.
We will continue to monitor the situation overnight to determine the course of action for tomorrow, January 31st.
