Gunter ISD was truly blessed to have our Van Alstyne neighbor, Duke Sparks, Director of Community Partnerships & Athletic Operations in Melissa ISD speak to our faculty this afternoon. Mr. Sparks has served the great state of Texas for 54 years in the education industry, so his knowledge and wisdom are definitely on target.
Every year, school districts across the state choose a theme to motivate students and staff. Mr. Sparks helped us to understand that choosing a theme does not work unless we internalize it and put it into motion. We cannot just paste it on a wall or print it on a t-shirt; we must choose to internalize and believe in it.
