Gunter ISD broke ground on our new elementary school on April 22, 2023 in a groundbreaking ceremony.
Superintendent, Mr. Scott Martindale started the morning with introductions and gratitude for every group/person who had a part in the vision and process of this school becoming reality to the groundbreaking. Board President, Mrs. Shelli Hales, gave a special thank you to Mr. Don Godwin, who we purchased the land from. Mr. Godwin has been a huge supporter for our Gunter students, and was invited to join in on the "dig". We are excited to get started on the construction of this school!
We had a great crowd, including several students who will be attending the new school. An impromptu student groundbreaking happened after the ceremonial groundbreaking, and it's too cute not to share!
