Gunter ISD is a 3A public school district serving students in grades PK–12. Located in southern Grayson County, approximately 22 miles north of Frisco and 20 miles southwest of Sherman, the district encompasses more than 66 square miles and is known for its commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and community involvement. Gunter ISD serves approximately 1,100 students in grades PK–12.

Athletic opportunities include Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Wrestling, Bass Fishing, and Track & Field.
Students may participate in Band, Theatre, Academic UIL, FFA, National Honor Society, Student Council, One Act Play, and a variety of additional academic and leadership organizations.

Our Community
Gunter, TX is a city in the southwestern corner of Grayson County. It is part of the Sherman–Denison Metropolitan Area, an hour north of DFW. Gunter was founded in 1902 when the family of John (aka Jot) Gunter deeded 328 acres for the original townsite, near the intersection of State Highway 289 and Farm to Market Road 121.
