Collage of students projects

The Earth's crust is the outermost layer of our planet; it's a thin shell that surrounds the entire Earth. There are two types of crust: oceanic crust and continental crust. Oceanic crust is very thin and is mostly made up of basalt, which comes from lava.  With that information in hand, our 6th grade science students in Mrs. Morrison's class brought supplies from home to create a model showing the layers in our great planet; Earth!

Most projects were created from food, so once they were graded, layer by layer, the "earth's layers" mysteriously disappeared ;)
