We are hard at work preparing for the 2023-24 school year and wanted to send the new school hours to you so that you have plenty of time to make arrangements for these changes.
Listed below are the changes to our start times for next year and the reasons for the changes.
2023-2024 Gunter ISD School Start Times
High School and Middle School Times- Start Time 7:30
- End Time 3:10
- Start Time 7:50
- End Time 3:30
Reasons for Changes:
- Losing the band parking lot as a staging area for secondary bus riders to load.
- Allows secondary bus riders to arrive home first and receive elementary siblings during the second tier of the afternoon bus routes.
- Decreases the amount of instructional time lost due to students leaving early for extracurricular activities.
- Decreases the amount of extra coverage needed by secondary teachers when sponsors, coaches, and/or directors leave early for extracurricular activities.
- Gets secondary students home earlier in the evening on non-event days.
