Softball Head Coach Announced

Gunter ISD is excited to announce that Heather Barton will be taking the Head Softball Coach position at Gunter High School. Coach Barton will be entering her 11th year of coaching and 9th year as a head coach. Her most recent stop was at Gilmer High School where she led the Buckeyes to the playoffs in all 5 years and the school’s first District title in school history. Gilmer also advanced to the 3rd round for only the second time in school history. Prior to arriving at Gilmer, Coach Barton served as assistant coach at Abilene Christian University for 2 years and has head coaching stops at Palestine and Overton. Coach Barton earned her degree from Texas Tech University where she was a 4-year starter at Short Stop for the softball team. Heather’s overall record is 112-79-2.
