As we approach the end of the school year, this is a friendly reminder to please take care of any outstanding cafeteria charges.
Beginning May 1, 2026, we will no longer be able to allow new charges of any kind. We kindly ask that all student accounts be paid in full before this date.

Gunter ISD proudly recognizes National Assistant Principals Week, April 6–10, 2026. This week is dedicated to celebrating the vital role assistant principals play in supporting student success and strengthening our school communities.
Assistant principals are instrumental in fostering a positive campus culture, supporting teachers, engaging with families, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment make a lasting impact on our students and staff.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Susanne Brackeen (Gunter Elementary School) and Lance Lemberg (Gunter High School) for their outstanding service to Gunter ISD. Their hard work and leadership are truly valued and appreciated.
Please join us in thanking our assistant principals for all they do to support our schools each and every day.

Update regarding Winter Storm Days & Make-up Schedule
Gunter ISD Family,
Because we missed four days of school due to the winter storm, we needed a plan to make up that time.
The good news is that we only need to make up one day. Our School Board has submitted a waiver to the state for the other days, and we are waiting on approval.
Monday, March 23 will now be a regular school day for all students.

We are pleased to announce the members of our School Board who will begin serving in the 2026–2027 school year.
After 21 years of selfless and dedicated service, Gary Harris will be stepping down from the Board. We are deeply grateful for his commitment, leadership, and the many contributions he has made to our district over the years. Please join us in thanking him for his extraordinary service.
The following candidates were unopposed and will begin serving our district in the upcoming school year:

Place 6: Kristie Nelson
Place 7: Jim Scano
Because these candidates were unopposed, there will not be a school board election this year.
We look forward to the continued leadership and service of our incoming board members as they support the success of our students, staff, and community.
IMPORTANT: Gunter ISD School Closure for Wednesday
Gunter ISD Families and Staff,
While we are seeing a slight relief from freezing temperatures today, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Due to lingering icy conditions that make travel unsafe, Gunter ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 28th.
This closure includes:
All campus classes.
All extracurricular activities and athletic events.
All scheduled school meetings.
We will continue to monitor road conditions and provide further updates regarding Thursday via our standard communication channels. Please stay safe and warm!

Due to continued concerns regarding road conditions and the safety of our students and staff, Gunter ISD will remain closed on Tuesday, January 27th.
The safety of our community is our highest priority, and we want to ensure everyone stays off the roads and remains warm. All extracurricular activities and practices scheduled for Tuesday are also canceled.
We will continue to monitor conditions and will provide an update regarding Wednesday’s schedule once a decision is made.
Monday Events: All activities, practices, and events are canceled/rescheduled.
Tuesday Status: We are monitoring the situation and will update you as soon as possible.
Instructional Minutes: Plans for make-up time will be shared at a later date.
