  • COVID Information / COVID Tracker

We are incredibly excited to see our students on August 19th & 20th, yet we are equally concerned that we do so in a way that is safe for everyone involved. Gunter ISD will provide a high-quality education through two instructional delivery models: In-Person Learning (traditional classroom experience) and At-Home Learning (remote online learning experience – which for our secondary students may include some optional, on-campus experiences). Parents will be asked to commit to one of these two learning environments prior to July 20th. Please click into this article to get more information!

  • 2020-21 Dress Code

A huge thank you for all of the feedback regarding dress code. Our goal was to make some modifications to simplify the rules, decrease costs for families, make it more culturally and stylistically relevant yet continue to remain modest in nature. We had over 400 respondents to our feedback request (319 families + 105 staff members) and the recommendations were overwhelmingly positive with 93% of parents and 93% of staff recommending overall approval of the changes. • Striving Towards a Better Accountability - 2019

Today is the first day of the 2019-20 school year and I couldn’t be more excited… Not only are we coming off of the MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR in virtually every way, we are about to welcome back over 1,000 students into classrooms and fields and courts and labs and band halls where they will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they belong, are valued and will find success this year! The state also released the A-F ratings today. While our district rating may have improved, my thoughts around the negative impact that rolling 12,000 indicators into 1 letter grade labeled on an entire school community have not. As superintendents, we WANT to be held accountable – but in a way that is well-rounded, appropriate for children and reflective of the hopes and dreams of our communities. And we in Gunter ISD will strive towards a better accountability until we achieve it. Click into this story for more thoughts on the A-F system.
