I'm so excited to be able to call Gunter High School home!!! I graduated from Oklahoma State University and married my college sweetheart. We have 3 girls that attend Gunter ISD. I helped open two middle schools in Frisco and have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math and Geometry. I love being a part of this wonderful community and getting to know our amazing kids and students. Go Tigers!!!!
Course Information
The following guidelines will create a comfortable and productive learning environment for everyone.
You can expect me:
To reply to e-mails within 24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends.
To assign homework that adequately covers the material and meets the learning objectives of the course. If your child is working in class, they will not receive a lot of homework.
To give exams that accurately reflect the material covered in class and assigned in homework.
I can expect you:
To come to class on time.
To be attentive and engaged in class.
To refrain from using negative behavior that would distract others from learning.
To spend an adequate amount of time on the homework each week, making an effort to solve and understand each problem.
To engage with both the abstract and computational sides of the material.
To seek help when appropriate.

Grading Policy
Class participation is key to student success; therefore, a participation grade is included each quarter. However, student cannot succeed if they are not prepared for class.
Everyone begins class with a 100% Participation/Preparedness average, and now it is up to you to keep it. This can be in the form of completed homework or another assignment deemed a participatory grade by the teacher.
Nine-Week grades shall be assigned according to the following:
1. 40% of a grade shall be based on summative exams or other summative assessments. Summative exams or other summative assessments may include, but are not limited to, tests, projects, long term assignments, presentations, papers and/or reports.
2. 60% of a grade shall be based on formative assessments and assignments. Formative assessments and assignments may include, but are not limited to, class discussion, daily practice, periodic quizzes, homework, classwork, and/or teacher observation. These grades should be a balanced representation of the types of work completed during the grading period.

Extra Credit
Extra credit is given sparingly in this class. Extra credit is extra work and is not meant to replace work not completed in class. If a student has a "0" in the grade book they are ineligible for extra credit.
