I am excited to be the returning to Gunter High School as the Chemistry teacher for my fifth year. We have some great kids here and I look forward to continue with this school's tradition of excellence. I grew up in a small community, so I am very familiar at the bonds this type of culture has. I received my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University (GET YOUR GUNS UP!) with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I went on to get my master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology. After graduation, I worked in the forensic field as a Forensic Chemist for just under ten years. I worked for Dallas County’s Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science in the drug confirmation lab. During my time there, I got see and be a part of the scientific community that most don’t get to experience. I’m positive I can reveal to our students how important science is in our world today. After my time with SWIFS, I had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home dad and spend some quality time with my two kids. I am married to my wife Vicki, who is a pediatrician at Children’s of Dallas, and we have a twelve year old daughter, Lily and a nine year old son, Alex. I am extremely excited to get back into the classroom, show our students the fascinating world of science and chemistry, and to work with the parents and the Gunter community to make this an excellent year!
