I was born and raised in Gunter, and I have raised two Gunter Tigers of my own. Karissa graduated as part of the GHS class of 2019, and Landon graduated in 2022. They have both taken online classes through Grayson College. Karissa received her associate degree and is now an animal control officer for the city of Sherman working at the shelter we've volunteered at since 2012. Landon played varsity baseball and was fortunate enough to make it to the state tournament his junior and senior years. Landon is working while completing his associate degree. Life has slowed down a bit now that high school sports are a thing of the past. When I'm not at school, I can usually be found hanging out with my babies - both two legged and four legged.

I am a graduate of Gunter High School and Oklahoma Baptist University. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach PreK-6th grade, and I am also ESL and SPED certified.

I previously taught kindergarten and pre-k for 15 years.  I rejoined the Gunter Elementary staff in 2017 as an instructional aide in the special education department. This year I am returning to the pre-k classroom. I also serve as the director of the Extended Care program for our kids who need a place to stay after school.  I have loved being back in the school setting.  Gunter Elementary has the best faculty/staff and students around!
