Mrs. Elyse Smith
Hello, my name is Elyse Smith, and I’m so excited to teach 5th grade math this year!
A little about me: I graduated from Southlake Carroll High School and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University, with a specialization in Math and Science and a minor in Environmental Crop and Soil Science. Wreck ‘em Tech!
This is my 13th year in education, and I’ve previously taught both 4th and 5th grade math and science. Teaching 5th grade math is my passion, and I can’t wait to share that excitement with your child this year.
My husband, Tanner, and I live in Gunter with our twin boys, Case and Colt, who are 9 years old and headed into 3rd grade. We love being part of the Tiger family here at Gunter Elementary!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching my boys play sports, and cheering on all of the Gunter High School teams. As a family, we love being outdoors, boating, and traveling whenever we get the chance.
It’s going to be a fantastic year!
