The Gunter Volunteer Fire Department visits our GES campus annually to help teach our students about fire safety, and we are always excited to see them! The students meet the fire fighters, try on their gear, hold the fire hose, crawl to safety, and tour the fire trucks. It all seems like fun to the kids, but they are actually learning safety skills to use if they are ever in a fire. Getting to see the firemen in their gear and try it on shows them not to fear the firefighter in a rescue situation.
