My name is Carrie Teems. I grew up in Gilmer,Texas. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1989, and my Master's degree in Elementary Education in 1995.
I have twenty-one years of teaching experience. I have taught kindergarten (1 year), fourth grade (2 years), second grade (15 years), and this is my fourth year at Gunter Elementary as a third grade teacher. I have taught in Ore City, Oakwood, Mt. Pleasant, Union Grove, and Henderson school districts.
I am married to GHS principal Kelly Teems and we have a son, Kevin (an 8th grader). We are living in Gunter and are so thrilled to become a part of this wonderful community. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, supporting my son’s extracurricular activities and busy lifestyle, and playing an integral part in young childrens’ lives.
