Printing and Imaging Technology
Course Information:

Advanced applications utilizing all components of desktop publishing. Emphasis on creation of student projects including newsletters, brochures, magazines, calendars, and promotional materials. Attention is given to design and layout principles and production techniques. Principles of layout and design will be practiced.

Course Objectives:

 1. The student will review the basics of desktop publishing.

  2.  The student will review and become productive in the use of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop CS2.

 3.  The student will become proficient in the use of all available software and hardware in the desktop laboratory.

 4.  The student will be introduced to and be able to use basic presentation software.

 5.  The student will become acquainted with the desktop publishing operations in the local community.

 6.  The student will be encourage to be creative in the use of design, development and preparation of published materials.

Materials Required:

Bring to class every day:
        - One spiral notebook, dedicated to this class, to keep notes.
           You WILL be taking notes in this class and you will be graded on these notes.
        - Writing utensil (blue or black ink or pencil only). I will not accept any other color.
        - Notebook paper.
