To the Parents of GISD:

House Bill 121 requires all schools to adopt and implement a policy to address bullying, sexual harassment and violence in students’ relationships. GUNTER ISD has developed a policy that addresses all three areas. This policy was established to ensure a safe and nurturing environment that allows for student achievement. All charges of bullying, sexual harassment, and dating violence are to be taken very seriously by students, faculty, staff, administration and parents. The District will make every reasonable effort to handle and respond to every charge and complaint filed by students in a fair, thorough, and just manner.

Principals, counselors and teachers will continue to implement a school wide, classroom, and individual system to teach and support positive student behaviors and to provide appropriate consequences for misbehaviors.

This policy and campus regulations can be found at the bottom of this page or you can pick up a copy at any of the three campuses. If you have any questions about the policy, please feel free to contact your school administrators.

Sincerely,

Kevin Worthy
Assistant Superintendent, Gunter ISD
