Top

• School-affiliated or GYA top
• Short- or long-sleeve, collared shirt with buttons
• Pullover sweater
• Turtleneck and mock turtleneck
• Crew neck (rounded t-shirt)
• V-neck neck tops must have a collared or crew neck under layer.


• Cotton
• Poly/cotton blend
• Wool
• Solid, striped, or plaid only.
• Logo must not be larger than a silver dollar.
• All shirt buttons must be buttoned with exception of neck button.
• On multi-layers (attached or unattached), bottom layer must be collared or crew neck.
• Spandex and other stretch materials are not appropriate blends.
• Rounded t-shirt must not come below the collarbone.
• No sheer or see-through materials
Grades 5-12:
• All layers must be fully tucked .

Bottoms • Four-or Five-pocket jeans
(plain except for back pockets)
• Pleated or non-pleated slacks
• Denim
• Twill/Poplin
• Cotton
• Poly blend
• Wool
• Solid colors only.
• No holes or skin showing.
• Repair patches must be similar, solid color.
• All pants must be worn above the hip level.
Grades 5-12:
• No cargo or carpenter pants.
• Belts must be worn inside belt loops at all times.
Skirts / Shorts • Skirt
Grades Pr-K-4:
• Shorts or capris
• Denim
• Twill/Poplin
• Cotton
• Poly blend
• Wool
• Solid colors only.
• No holes or patches.
• Skirts must touch top of kneecap or below.
• Kick pleat no higher than kneecap.
• Shorts must touch the top of kneecap or below.

Outerwear • School-affiliated or GYA top
• Sweatshirt
• Hooded sweatshirt
• Jacket, coat, windbreaker, cardigan sweater
• School-affiliated jacket
 

• No trench coats.
• No wording.
• Logo must not be larger than a silver dollar.
• All outerwear must remain completely unbuttoned or unzipped in the building.

Footwear • Closed-toe shoes   • No house shoes
Hair • Boys: Restrictions include sideburns past the earlobes, ponytail, pigtails, and braids; no facial hair below the corners of the mouth; hair may not extend past the bottom of the collar of the shirt, below the earlobe, or below the eyebrows.

• All students: No unnatural hair coloring may be displayed, such as green, purple, etc., nor symbols or gang-style haircuts.
Other • No visible tattoos
• No visible body piercing, other than in the ears for the girls only
• No earrings or nail polish for the boys
• No hat, cap, or sunglasses in school buildings
• No chains

Administrators will have complete and final judgment on all matters concerning interpretation of the student dress code. Matters concerning the appearance and dress not specifically covered in the dress code policy shall be within the discretion of the administrator.
